I have the honour to acknowledge the receipt of Your Excellency's letter of the 29th ultimo, and to transmit for your information the enclosed copy of a Despatch which I addressed to Lord Crewe on the 20th ultimo on the subject of the maintenance at Victoria Gaol in this Colony of prisoners sentenced by His Britannic Majesty's Court for Siam.

Pending the receipt of Lord Crewe's reply, this Government cannot accept debit for the sum of Ticals 98.46.
